Lofa Tatupu As the season heats up, so does he

Instead of hitting the rookie wall, Lofa Tatupu has blasted through it.

The Seahawks' middle linebacker has played his best football as the season has heated up. Against the Giants in Week 12, he had a season-high 13 tackles. Against the Eagles a week later, he returned an interception for a touchdown. Then against the 49ers, he had another interception, a sack and a fumble recovery.

Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell was criticized for drafting Tatupu (5-11,226) in the second round because he isn't as athletic or big as some players. But Tatupu's work ethic and ability to prepare effectively have made him one of the best rookies in the NFL.

The Seahawks' leading tackler, Tatupu has become the glue to the team's defense. His leadership abilities have helped this group achieve more than many suspected it would.
